How to Crochet a Blue Owl Purse
Owls were once considered a kitschy craft item, but have recently come back into popularity. Create your own small blue owl purse to take advantage of the trend with yarn and felt. A purse frame will make up the top of the purse and can be sewed on by hand. The small, homemade purse should be able to carry your wallet and other small items wherever you go.

1
Chain 20 using the blue yarn and crochet hook E. For row one: chain one, turn, and starting from the second chain from the hook, single crochet in each stitch. At the end of the row, chain one and turn.
-
2
Single crochet in each stitch in row two. At the end of the row, chain one and turn. Repeat this for eight rows. For the ninth row, add a single crochet into every stitch for the ninth row, including one in the chain at the beginning and end of the eighth row. End with a chain and turn.

3
Add a single crochet in each stitch for the next row, not including the chains. Then repeat row nine for row 12. Skip the first and last stitch of the next six rows to begin to decrease the number of stitches per row. At the end of the last row, do not finish off. Single crochet around the body to create an edge, then finish off.

4
Cut two circles out of brown felt that are about 1.5 inches in diameter, then two smaller circles of brown felt for the eyes. Cut out a half circle from white felt that is just smaller than the belly, and a diamond shape about 1/2-inch tall from orange felt. Attach to one of the owl shapes with needle and thread using a whipstitch.

5
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the back side.
-
6
Sew one side of the purse frame to the top of the first owl shape. Beginning at the edge of the frame, single crochet around in the edging. When you get to the end, chain one then go back across.
-
7
Repeat for two rows, then work in the edging of the other owl shape for the last row. Sew the second side of the purse frame to the top of the second owl shape.
-
8
Chain two then single crochet six times in the second chain from the hook. Single crochet around for four rows then finish off. Repeat, then attach each one to the sides using a yarn needle to create small wings.
-
9
Sew one end of the ribbon by hand to each side of the inside purse frame using a needle and thread for a strap.
