How to Adapt a Vegetable Sprayer to a Kitchen Faucet
As the designs of kitchen faucets evolve, many models are offering faucet heads that turn into sprayers. Unfortunately, these are not without problems, and many homeowners prefer a separate vegetable sprayer on their sink. Even modern sink layouts generally provide a space to add one of these sprayers, if one does not already exist, so a simple solution is at hand. You can purchase a vegetable sprayer kit inexpensively at a home improvement store and, with a little plumbing knowledge, install it yourself. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove the previous sprayer or the metal plug covering the hole meant for the sprayer. Turn off the main water supply to the kitchen.
-
2
Remove the retention bolt from the metal grommet. Insert the metal shroud grommet into the hole. Screw the bolt on from underneath to hold it in place.
-
-
3
Screw the head of the sprayer onto the hose length. Insert the hose down through the grommet and pull the hose from underneath until the sprayer head sits upright on the metal shroud grommet.
-
4
Find the threads of the diverter under the sink. Wrap these threads thinly with plumber's tape. Attach the end of the tube to the diverter and tighten all the connections with an adjustable wrench.
-
5
Lay a towel in the bottom of the area below the sink. Reconnect the water supply and turn on the faucet. Use the sprayer for two to three minutes and turn off the water.
-
6
Feel the towel for any dampness. If the towel is dry, you are finished. But if there are wet places, there are leaks that need to be repaired. Tighten all the nuts again with the wrench and retest the sprayer. Any remaining leaks may indicate serious issues, so consult a plumber.
