How to Troubleshoot a Sea-Doo 3D

Jet skis are like motorcycles for the water. Just like motorcycles, they are a complex piece of machinery where things occasionally malfunction or break. If you own or rent a Sea-Doo 3D, it's handy to know some basic troubleshooting procedures. It can save you a trip to the mechanic or dealer, as well as a lot of money. The 3D is a little longer and wider than most other jet skis.

Instructions

1. Check the battery if the engine is turning over weakly. Clean and tighten the connections, or replace the battery with a new one.

2. Check the fuel pump if you're getting bad fuel pressure. Look at the fuse and wiring harness for signs of damage or wear and tear, and, if so, replace.

3. Drain the flush reservoir and replace with new gas if water has entered the reservoir.

4. Fix engine problems by checking and replacing the spark plugs. Check the ignition coil and replace worn or damaged spark plugs with new ones.

5. Clean the fuel injectors. This may solve a fuel intake problem and is simply a good maintenance procedure.

6. Check the oil level. Add oil if it's too low and siphon excess oil off if it's too high.
