How to Get Dust Out of Detail Work on Furniture

Dusting usually isn't high on the list of most people's favorite things to do. Dusting intricate details of woodwork is even more taxing. If you merely swipe your dust cloth over furniture with detail work, you likely will leave dust in the nooks and crannies of the detailed areas. Removing dust is important in terms of keeping your furniture looking as good as possible. Dusting also helps to eliminate allergens. You can remove dust in woodwork detail through a simple process that involves some common household supplies.

Things You'll Need

• Cotton swabs
• Dusting cloths or micro-fiber cloths
• Furniture polish

Instructions

1. Tape a small piece of dusting cloth (the types that capture dust with an electro-static charge) or micro-fiber cloth to the end of a cotton swab.

2. Run the covered tip of the swab over the grooves in the woodwork.

3. Spray the tip of an uncovered cotton swab with furniture polish.

4. Run the damp cotton swab tip around the details of the furniture once more to add polish and shine.
