Instructions

    • 1

Sprinkle your work surface with cornstarch so that the fondant will not stick when you begin working with it.

    • 2

Place your premade, precolored fondant onto your work surface.

    • 3

Rub cornstarch onto your rolling pin, then roll your fondant out to about a 1/8-inch thickness.

    • 4

Press your number cookie cutter into the fondant. Apply even pressure and cut the fondant through to the work surface.

    • 5

Lift the cookie cutter away, leaving the fondant shape behind. Continue this process until you have all of your shapes pressed into the fondant sheet.

    • 6

Peel the fondant away from the number shapes, leaving the numbers behind.

    • 7

Lift the numbers using a spatula, being careful not to damage the edges of the numbers.

    • 8

Apply the fondant shapes to whatever you are decorating. They will likely stick to frosting, but brushing the backs of the numbers with a dampened pastry brush will help them stick to fondant.
