How to Attach an Earring Hook to an Earring
When making your own earrings, you have several options of how you want them to hang on your ears. From posts to hoops and earring hooks, including French hooks, each type comes ready for you to attach to your finished earring. An earring hook actually looks like a hook and inserts easily into the ear. Attaching an earring hook to the jump ring or end pin just takes a few seconds, but requires a steady hand.

1
Grasp the end of the small loop of the earring hook with a pair of chain needle-nose pliers. If you don't have chain needle-nose pliers, use regular needle-nose pliers.
-
2
Pull the small loop slightly so it twists away from the rest of the hook. You want the opening to be just wide enough that the jump ring or eye pin can slip through easily.

-
3
Slide the jump ring or eye pin attached to the earring through the open loop of the earring hook.
-
4
Close the earring hook's small loop.
