How to Make a Penguin Eating a Fish Emoticon on a Facebook Chat
You can type a variety of symbols and text icons with just a few keystrokes while chatting with friends on Facebook. These symbols, known as "emoticons," are commonly used in online chats to convey emotions, replace words or elicit a chuckle. One such emoticon is a that of a penguin eating a fish. You can type the symbol on a single line to depict a penguin head eating a fish or you can type it on three separate lines to depict the penguin in full.

Launch your Web browser. Navigate to Facebook.com and log in to your account.

Select a friend from your sidebar with whom you wish to chat. Click on the person's name to open a chat window.

Type the following letters and symbols depicting a penguin head eating a fish and click "Enter" to send the message.

You can stop here or continue to create the penguin's body.

Type "//\" -- two forward slashes followed by a back slash, without the quote marks -- and press "Enter." On the next line, type "V/_" without the quotes and press "Enter" again. You now have a full-bodied penguin eating a fish.
