Obtain an engineering skill number of at least 450 and save 1,500 gold. Only an engineer is capable of buying the exhaust pipe, which costs 1,500 gold. Once you have the appropriate engineering level, you will be able to gain access to the schematics that will make the exhaust pipe available.

Get the schematics for either the Mechano-hog or the Mekgineer's Chopper, depending on if you are part of the Horde or the Alliance respectively. For Horde engineers, purchase the Mechano-hog schematics from Horde Expedition Quartermasters, Gara Skullcrush or Sebastian Crane. Alliance engineers can purchase Mekgineer Chopper schematics can be purchased at Alliance Vanguard Quartermasters, Logistics Officer Silverstone or Logistics Officer Brighton. For both Alliance and Horde, the schematics will cost 320 gold and requires an exalted reputation.

Visit Roxy Ramrocket and buy the exhaust pipe from her. Roxy lives in the base camp of K3 near the southern tip of the Storm Peaks. If you have accomplished all prerequisites, she will sell engineers several parts, including the elementium-plated exhaust pipe, allowing to build the mechanical mounts. Roxy can also teach experienced riders the Cold Weather Flying ability for 1,000 gold.
