You can make gifts for teenage girls without spending a lot of money. When you make these gifts yourself, it shows a lot of care and time on your part, as opposed to just buying something someone else made. These gifts are perfect for birthdays, holidays or just a way to show you care. Get creative, and add your own special touches to make these gifts, all of which can be made for $5 dollars.

Instructions

Memory Drawing
-
1
Acquire a picture frame. Scour sales at craft stores or garage sales to find one under $5, or choose a small frame.
-
2
Measure a piece of white paper that matches the size of your frame, and cut it out.
-
-
3
Draw a valuable memory you've had with the gift recipient on the paper. Color the drawing using colored pencils or markers. Don't worry if you're not a great artist. It's more about the thought than the skill of your drawing.
-
4
Place the drawing inside the picture frame.
Secret Hollow Book
-
5
Acquire an old hardcover book with a large number of pages, such as 500 or more. Thrift stores such as Goodwill may have one for less than $5 if you already own one you can cut up.
-
6
Cut out a storage space in the hardcover book, using the utility knife. Start a few pages in, and makes your cuts so there's still a border of about half an inch of page around the edges of the storage space. Cut into all the pages, except a few at the front and a few at the back. Leave those untouched.
-
7
Place fun items in the hollowed-out part of the book, such as candy and coins. Keep the book flat or the items will fall out. To put the book upright without having the items fall out, attach a piece of duct tape from the edge of the front cover to the back cover.
Pen Holder Collage
-
8
Clean and dry a soup can.
-
9
Measure the height of the soup can, and cut a long piece of construction paper that height. Wrap this construction paper around the soup can, and cut it at the spot where the two sides of the construction paper meet. Glue the construction paper to the soup can.
-
10
Cut out pictures and words from old magazines of things that remind you of the gift recipient, as well as small photos of this person. Glue these to the side of the soup can at different angles, and position them close together.
-
11
Mix equal parts glue and water together. Using a paintbrush, lightly coat the outside of the soup can with this mixture to seal the images on the can. Let it dry. Give this gift to the person as is, or include a large array of pens, pencils and markers.
