Instructions

    • 1

Choose a fruit juice to make your ice pop with. Choose from a variety of juices including cranberry juice, orange juice or lemonade. You can also prepare a packet of powdered drink mix to use instead of fruit juice. Pour 3 cups of the juice into a bowl with a spout.

    • 2

Choose an alcohol to mix with the fruit juice. Choose an alcohol that will complement the fruit juice you choose, such as vodka with orange juice or cranberry juice and tropical-flavored rum with pineapple juice. Your ratio of juice to alcohol should be 12 to 1, or 3 cups of juice to 1/4 cup of alcohol. Adding in any more alcohol will prevent the ice pops from freezing completely.

    • 3

Add in chunks of real fruit if you desire. Segment and puree an orange or grapefruit, drain a can of crushed pineapple or add in frozen or fresh blueberries, raspberries or sliced strawberries. Add in as much fruit to the mix as you wish.

    • 4

Pour the mix of juice, alcohol and fruit into ice pop molds. Fill each mold three-fourths of the way full. If you don't own ice pop molds, pour the mixture into paper cups, filling each cup three-fourths of the way full. Place a wooden ice pop stick into each cup after one or two hours when the pops have set up but are not completely frozen. Freeze until the pops are completely frozen and serve. This recipe makes approximately six ice pops.

Tips & Warnings

  • Alcoholic ice pops should only be consumed by adults over the age of 21 in the United States.
