How to End a Sailor Knot Bracelet
Sailor's knots have been used for several hundred years to create decorative and useful knots throughout ships and in other uses. However, the beautiful knot has become popular in another, fashionable way over the past decade or so -- being turned into thick yet delicate-looking bracelets. The jewelry can be created out of most string and is both simple and affordable to make. However, finishing the ends is important. This will maintain the structural integrity of the bracelet.
Things You'll Need

- Scissors
- Candle or lighter (optional)
Instructions

1
Remove the sailor's bracelet from the structure it has been created on, usually a can or tubing. Place it on a flat work surface.
-
2
Insert the cords back into the middle of the bracelet, as if continuing with the weaving process, following the same pattern.
-
-
3
Bring the two loose ends together in the bracelet tautly, but not tight enough to pull the bracelet out of formation.
-
4
Tie the two ends together using a double simple knot. Cut off any excess.
-
5
Fuse the ends together by knotting them and then heating them with a lighter or candle, if the bracelet is created out of nylon.
