Instructions for the Palson 30620 Breadmaker

Things You'll Need
- 2 AAA batteries
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tbls. milk powder
- 2 tbls. sunflower oil
- 1 tbls. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 cups strong bread flour
- 1 tsp. dry yeast
- 5 tbls. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 cup mixed dried fruit
- 2 tbls. melted butter
- 3 oranges
- 1 cup sugar with pectin

General Preparation

Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the machine. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring their correct polarity. Replace the battery cover.

Set the clock. Press the "pause" button and wait for the numbers indicating the hours to flash. Press the "time" button repeatedly until you select the correct hour. Wait five seconds for the setting to be saved. Press the "pause" button again to set the minutes in the same way. When you have set the correct time, press the "pause" button again to save the setting and start the clock.

Wash the bread pan and kneading paddles thoroughly. Rinse them well and dry.

Place the pan in position by pressing it down securely. Place the blades onto the rods and turn them to the right, ensuring a tight fit.
Standard White Loaf

Pour 3/4 cup water into the bread pan. Add 2 tbls. milk powder, 2 tbls. sunflower oil,1 tbls. sugar and 1 tsp. salt.

Put 2 cups flour into the pan. Sprinkle 1 tsp. yeast onto the mixture.

Close the lid of the machine. Connect the breadmaker to a power supply.

Press the "menu" button until "1" appears in the display. This is the basic breadmaking program. Press the "color" button to select the desired crust color from either light, medium or dark. Press the "size" button to select 800g. Finally start the program by pressing the "start " button.

Listen for the machine to sound 10 beeps at the end of the program to indicate baking is complete. Carefully remove the bread from the pan and allow it to cool on a wire tray.
Sweet, Fruit Bread

Pour 3/4 cup water into the bread pan. Add 2 tbls. milk powder, 2 tbls. sunflower oil, 5 tbls. sugar and 1 tsp. salt.

Put 2 cups flour into the pan. Sprinkle 1 tsp. yeast onto the mixture. Add 1/2 tsp. nutmeg and 1/4 cup dried, mixed fruit.

Close the lid of the machine. Connect the breadmaker to a power supply.

Press the "menu" button until "5" appears in the display. This is the sweet bread program. Press the "color" button to select the desired crust color from either light, medium or dark. Press the "size" button to choose 800g. Finally start the program by pressing the "start" button.

Listen for the machine to sound 10 beeps at the end of the program to indicate baking has been completed. Carefully remove the bread from the pan and allow to cool on a wire tray.
Dough

Pour 1 and 1/4 cups water into the bread pan. Add 1 tbls. milk powder, 2 tbls. melted butter, 2 tbls. sugar and 1 and 1/2 tsp. salt.

Put 3 and 1/4 cups flour into the pan. Sprinkle 1 and 1/2 tsp. yeast onto the mixture.

Press the "menu" button until "6" appears in the display. This is the dough program. Press the "size" button to select 1000g. Finally start the program by pressing the "start" button.

Listen for the machine to sound 10 beeps at the end of the program to indicate dough preparation is complete. Remove the dough from the pan and lightly knead on a floured work surface. Shape the dough into rolls and place on a baking tray. Allow them to stand for 25 minutes to rise. Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 190 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Jam

Grate the rind from 2 oranges and place it into the bread pan. Squeeze the juice from 3 oranges and also place this into the pan.

Add 1 cup sugar with pectin and 1 tbls. water.

Close the lid of the machine and connect it to a power supply.

Press the "menu" button until "7" appears in the display. This is the jam program. Start the program by pressing the "start" button.

Listen for the machine to sound 10 beeps at the end of the program to indicate the jam has been cooked. Carefully pour the jam into clean, pre-warmed jars and allow to cool.
