How to Round the Edges on Maya

Maya is a powerful and widely used 3-D modeling, rendering and animation application sold by Autodesk. Many industry professionals use the tools of Maya to create models for video games or films. Users new to the program can be a bit bewildered by all the options. For example, you might be working on a model in Maya and want it, or a part of it, to have a round, smooth edge rather than a straight one.

Instructions

    • 1

Start the Maya application. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialog box that appears, locate and open the model to which you want to apply a rounded edge.

    • 2

Use the "Selection" tool to select an edge or edges that you want to make round. If you choose the entire object, all edges will be beveled.

    • 3

Select "Edit Mesh" and click "Bevel." Then drag with the mouse to adjust the curve of the bevel. Save your work.
