How to Flag and Get Posts Deleted on Craigslist

Craigslist can be a target for scammers, spammers and hostile discussions due to the anonymity that comes with posting a free ad on an Internet site. Acknowledging that these types of posts may occur, Craigslist provides a flagging system for users to report problem posts for deletion. It typically requires more than one flag for a post to be deleted, as more than one person flagging a post indicates a problem.

Instructions

1. Open your browser and locate the Craigslist post that you want to flag. Click the post title to open the post.

2. Click "Miscategorized" if the post was placed in the wrong section or is better suited for another category.

3. Select "Spam/Overpost" if the ad is posted in multiple sections or updated more often than the site terms allow.

4. Click "Prohibited" if the ad is selling or discussing something that violates the terms of use for the site.
