How to Move a Mini Barn

A mini barn is a small shed often used for storing tools and other equipment. Mini sheds are similar in appearance and structure to full-size sheds, but they are smaller, and therefore lighter. The smaller size and lighter weight make it possible to move the mini barn if needed. While it does require some effort, moving a mini barn can be done if you have the right equipment and take the right approach. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Empty the mini barn so that it is as light as possible and doesn't have anything in it that can fall out.

    • 2

Gather a group of friends to help slide the barn across the yard if you only need to move it a few feet. Pushing one front corner forward and then the other allows you to "walk" the barn across the yard without having to lift its full weight.

    • 3

Back a flatbed truck up to the mini barn if you need to move it a greater distance. The truck should have an adjustable flatbed that can be angled down to form a ramp.

    • 4

Slide the mini barn slowly up the ramp until it is completely on the flatbed. Maneuver the flatbed back into a horizontal position.

    • 5

Secure the back of the flatbed truck with either a gate, if it has one, or a chain to prevent the barn from falling off the back during transport.

    • 6

Drive the mini barn to its new location and slowly lower the flatbed again, then slide the mini barn off onto the ground.
