How to Set Controls on an ST90 Joystick

The ST90 is a joystick created by Saitek and designed for personal computers. It is a quite basic controller, consisting of a movable throttle stick and a trigger button. As this product is quite old, it is not compatible with any operating system newer than Windows XP. One of the benefits of this device is the simplicity of the installation process -- once plugged in, it is ready to use. In order to ensure that the controls are set correctly, you may wish to test them before use.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the joystick to a free USB port on your computer. Wait for the "Found New Hardware" notification to appear -- this signifies that the device has been installed.

    • 2

Click the "Start" button and open "Control Panel." Open "Printers and Other Hardware," then double-click the "Game Controllers" icon.

    • 3

Select "Saitek ST90" in the game controller's window to open a settings window for the device.

    • 4

Click "Properties" and select "Test" to begin testing the controls of the joystick. Once you have finished testing, click "OK" twice to exit. The device is now set up and ready for use.
