How to Eat Ginseng Root
For thousands of years, Asian culture used ginseng as a medicinal root and dietary supplement. Today, ginseng is available in a variety of forms, including dried root, in powder form and as a liquid extract. While ginseng tea is the easiest and most common way to consume the herb, the dry root incorporated into cooking is the optimal way to receive benefits. Does this Spark an idea?

Place a whole, cleaned ginseng root in a saucepan of water or steamer. Add enough water in the pot to cover the entire root.

Bring the water to a boiling and cook the root until soft. The entire root should be cooked at the same time, as a partial uncooked root will dry out.

Slice the ginseng into slices the thickness of a nickel. The slices can be eaten as is or used as an ingredient in stir fry or soup recipes.
