1
Purchase a spherical glass light fixture. You can buy one at a superstore or hardware store. Acquire a base to put it in, as well. A corresponding light fixture base or a large candle holder will work well. It must be flat on the bottom so that it sits appropriately on the table.

2
Hold the open end of the orb against a piece of Styrofoam. Cut around the base with a utility knife to shape a piece of Styrofoam that will fit snugly in the fixture. Cut a small hole in the center.

3
Insert the glow stick into the hole. They Styrofoam will hold it in place in the glass fixture, making the crystal ball appear to be lit from within (or beyond).
-
4
Place several stickers across the surface of the glass. Stars or swirls are fitting imagery for this, but you can choose any shape you prefer.
-
5
Spray the surface of the glass with frosted glass spray paint. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for drying time. Remove the stickers once the paint is dry.
-
6
Crack the glow stick right before your guests are due to arrive. Fit the Styrofoam in the glass and the glass on the base.
