Instructions

    • 1

Put a wineglass with a large diameter on a piece of cheesecloth and trace around its base, giving the circle you trace about an extra inch in diameter. Cut the circle out of the cheesecloth. Place the cheesecloth over the glass and secure it with a rubberband or festive ribbon. Offer the solution to guests if you are entertaining and write names on the cloth for easy identifying.

Rub lime on the rim of your wine glass. People living in hot climates or who don't have screens on their windows often rim glasses with lime, as insects don't enjoy the scent and flavor of this citrus fruit.

Purchase glass covers from companies that specialize in wine covers. These are usually reusable and subtle. Alternately, purchase mesh fruit protectors from a local department store. Set on a table and place wine glasses under them whenever you're not drinking.
