How to Hide Threads on 4Chan

4chan, a website hosting several bulletin boards where users can post messages and images, has a number of active topical boards in a variety of subjects, including anime and literature. Upon accessing a bulletin board, users can post in or start discussion threads related to their sub-topic of interest. Discussion threads can also be hidden using the 4chan Firefox Extension, which is compatible with installations of Mozilla Firefox 3.x or earlier.

Instructions

Extension Installation

1. Click the "Download the 4chan Firefox Extension" link on the 4chan tools page (see Resources).

2. Click "Install" when the extension installation prompt appears.

3. Click the "Exit" button to close Firefox and then re-launch the application.

Thread Hiding

1. Enter the 4chan bulletin board and then scroll to the 4chan discussion thread that you wish to hide.

2. Click the button next to the discussion thread. The thread will now be hidden.

3. Click the button again if you wish to make the discussion thread re-appear.
