How to Check If Someone Has Been Deported From the US to Mexico
If you are worried that someone you know has been deported from the U.S. to Mexico, there are steps that you can take to find out for sure. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, is the government office responsible for handling deportation issues. The unknown is scary in this situation, especially when it is a person who you care about, and you are not sure where they are. Fortunately, it is not difficult to find out if and when an individual has been in the custody of the ICE.

1
Search for the individual in ICE's online detainee locator system. This system allows you to enter the person's identification number, if you know it, or personal information such as first and last name and date of birth.
-
2
Contact the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, or ERO, responsible for the individual in question. If you are a family member or a legal representative of the individual, the ERO will give you more information about whether the person was deported to Mexico. The officer will be listed in ICE's system when you look for the person online.
