How to Sell a Puppy
If your dog has delivered puppies and you don't intend to keep them, you need to find homes for them. You can sell your puppy online or advertise locally. Keep the puppies with their mother until the age of 12 weeks or when the rabies shot is administered. Puppies need their immunization shots and it's not recommended to sell them before they have had all their vaccinations.

1
Gather information on the parents of the puppy, because many potential buyers may have questions about the puppy's breed and hereditary background. List diseases the parents have had, potential hereditary problems, and find out whether the parents are purebred. If the puppy is purebred, register it with a certified association and provide the registration papers at the time of sale.
-
2
Take the puppy to a veterinarian and ensure it is in good health. If the puppy has parasites or any diseases, get suitable treatment. Get a health certificate for the puppy.
-
-
3
Have the puppy vaccinated and gather all necessary paperwork to prove that the puppy received its shots.
-
4
Establish the price. Find the average prices for that breed's puppies online.
-
5
Write an ad for your puppy, and publish it online or in local newspapers. Include a picture of the puppy, because this saves time for you and the buyers. Specify your contact details. If you don't want to be bothered by phone calls, leave your email address. Put a line on your Facebook account, so that you spread the word quickly.
-
6
Print a flier and distribute it in your area, at malls, pet supply stores, animal clinics or other local stores.
-
7
Draft a contract of sale, which specifies the requirements for you and the buyer. Each state has different requirements for the sale of puppies, so research the requirements in your state. Specify what the seller provides and what is expected from the buyer.
-
8
Sign the contract and have the buyer sign as well. Indicate the date of the purchase and keep a copy of the contract.

Tips & Warnings
Compose your ad so that it stands out. Be honest and include a few fun facts about the puppy. If you create an ad to go online, include a few keywords (breed, sex, age) that ensure the ad appears in the search result pages and interested buyers find your ad faster.
Ask questions when you talk to potential buyers. Ensure that the puppy has a welcoming home. You don't have to sell the puppy to the first interested party. Consider all your options.
If the buyer is abroad, find out about the laws and regulations regarding the transfer of animals abroad. Prepare all the required documents and arrange an airline-approved crate for the puppy.
