How to Get Beer Smell Out of a Carpet
Odors in carpet can be persistent annoyances. The stench of spilled beer in a carpet can be especially troublesome, disturbing and challenging to remove, even if you use some expensive or rented rug shampooers or cleaners. Luckily, the smell of beer can be removed from carpeting using only a few simple household supplies and little effort. If the beer smell is accompanied by a stain, it may require additional cleaning. Sprinkle baking soda lightly and evenly over the entire carpeted area.

Coat the areas of any spills or especially persistent odors thoroughly, using extra baking soda for these portions of the carpet.

Let the baking soda sit for between about five and 20 hours, depending on the severity of the smell and level of convenience. An overnight treatment may prove ideal. Avoid heavy traffic across the carpet while the baking soda is sitting.

Vacuum up the baking soda thoroughly.

Tips & Warnings
Use only fresh baking soda. Old, already-opened box of baking soda may have acquired unpleasant odors that it will leave on the carpet.
