1
Wash, condition and dry your hair. Comb the hair to remove any knots or frizz. Preheat the curling iron for use in later steps.
-
2
Slide a section of locks in between your index and middle finger. Pull the locks up and outward at a 90-degree angle. Wet the roots with two squirts of hairspray. Continue until all of your roots are sprayed.

-
3
Blow-dry the roots to add volume.
-
4
Section hair into large, wide partings. Clasp one section in your hands. Wrap the bottom third of the section around a curling iron. Heat and hold the section in place for five to 10 seconds. Release the section.
-
5
Repeat the previous step for all areas of your hair. Remember, the demi wave is a natural wavy look, so avoid making it appear styled by curling the hair too tight or for too long. Clasp sections of hair at different points and wrap the locks around the curling iron in different ways to achieve the natural demi wave appearance. Skip to step seven if you do not have bangs.
-
6
Clasp a section of your bangs, if you have them. Squirt the roots and locks with hairspray. Clasp the roots with a curling iron. Hold tight and pull, stretching the hair until the ends slide off the iron to achieve a wavy-bang look.
-
7
Rub hair-polishing cream into your hands. Softly pat and squeeze the ends of your hair to add volume.
