How to End a Telnet Session
Telnet is a computer service supported by most network devices -- such as routers, switches and firewalls -- and server platforms, enabling remote command line access for administration. Exiting a telnet session by closing the command line window is inconvenient if you need to telnet to a different device. Close a telnet session using the "quit" command so the command line window remains open.
