How to Make an Armitron Watch Smaller

Everyday items like a straight pin can be used to adjust your watch.

Armitron is a brand of men's and women's watches available in both analog and digital formats. When you purchase and Armitron watch it will come in only one size. You will need to adjust the size accordingly to fit you properly because a poor fitting watch can be uncomfortable. If the watch band is too big it also increases the chances of damaging the watch band and watch face.

Things You'll Need

• Straight pin
• Flat-head or Jeweler's screwdriver

Instructions

1. Place the watch on your wrist to measure the length that needs to be adjusted to fit properly. Pinch the excess watch links in between two fingers. Count the links that you are pinching and add one. This is the amount of links to be removed.

2. Press the straight pin into the small hole near the clasp to release a spring. This spring will let you remove the wristband.

3. Place the wristband upside down. Observe the links that have arrows. These are the links that can be removed. Choose which links that you want to remove.

4. Using a flat-head or jeweler's screwdriver to remove the link pins in the direction that the arrows indicate. This should be easily done by pressing slightly with the screwdriver. Remove the pins on either side of the link.

5. Re-attach the wristband to the watch by pressing until the release spring has clicked back into place. Place the watch on your wrist to measure. Adjust again if needed.

• If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself, a jeweler can perform the watch fitting for a fee.
