How to Perform the Shake 'em Away Trick

This is a variation of the go-go knots trick.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ropes

    The Trick

  1. Step 1

    Use your right hand to make a magical pass over the rope.

  2. Step 2

    Shake the rope with your left hand and the knots disappear.

  3. How It's Done

  4. Step 1

    Tie four loose overhand knots in a piece of rope, working from left to right.

  5. Step 2

    Be consistent about the knots; they should all be identical.

  6. Step 3

    Leave the loops large enough to put the four fingers of your left hand through them.

  7. Step 4

    Begin with the knot on the left end and put a knot on each of your left-hand fingers, being careful to keep the knots facing the same direction.

  8. Step 5

    Tuck the right end of the rope between your left fingers.

  9. Step 6

    Turn your left hand over so your knuckles are toward the floor.

  10. Step 7

    Shake the rope and let the coils slide off your hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure that the knots are not too tight or they won't shake away.
