How to Open Sopcast on a Mac & PS2

Sopcast is a multimedia streaming and broadcasting application developed for use over local area networks, or LAN, and online via peer-to-peer services. Sopcast typically works with Sony PlayStation consoles for media distribution. Sopcast, however, is a Windows application and so if you want to install it to your Mac, you must install a Windows emulator. Codeweavers Crossover allows you to install Windows applications on your Mac computer. Crossover is the only product of its nature for Mac.

Instructions

    • 1

Download Crossover. Double-click the disc image, then click and drag the program icon to your Applications folder.

    • 2

Download Sopcast to your computer and double-click the file. This then opens Crossover and emulates the Windows environment.

    • 3

Click "Next" throughout the installation processes, leaving all default options.

    • 4

Wait a few moments for the installation to finish. A virtual Start menu sits at the bottom of the screen, click "Start," then "Programs" and then "Sopcast" to open it and run it on your Mac.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you own a version of Microsoft Windows, then you can install Windows to a Boot Camp partition on your Mac. This then allows you to install the Sopcast natively on your Windows partition. This, however, means you cannot use your Mac operating system at the same time as using Sopcast.
