-
1
Set aside a weekend day.
-
2
Put some Christmas music on the stereo to get everyone in the mood.
-
3
Make sure everyone has a comfortable place to sit (kids can sit on the floor) within arm's length of each other. Around a table is probably best, but if the kids are on the floor they can play with toys or leaf through magazines to kill any lag time they have between tasks.
-
4
Assign each person in the family a task and explain the order of the "card assembly line."
-
5
Fill out the cards and sign them (one parent).
-
6
Put the completed card in an envelope and address it (another parent or other adult).
-
7
Hand the envelope off to an older child, who will place a stamp and return address label on it.
-
8
Instruct the youngest family member to seal each envelope shut using a sponge and place it in the "to be mailed" pile.
-
9
Drive to the post office to mail the cards after you've finished them. Then go out to dinner to celebrate, and to thank your children for all their help.

Tips & Warnings
You can pass the cards around and have everyone in the family sign them.
Any other children who need to be involved could put stickers on the envelopes or stamp designs using a stamp pad.
Make sure no one has been nibbling before you sit down ' a quick snack could lead to sticky fingerprints on the cards.
