How to Upload an Album on Megaupload
After your band records an album, you might want to back up the digital files online, so each band member can access the song files, and you may prefer to upload them to Megaupload. Megaupload is an online service that allows people to upload files for free, and store them on a server without requiring them to first sign up for an account. Besides using Megaupload as a backup system, you could give the album's Megaupload link to music critics and potential fans so they can download your music and evaluate it.

Right-click the folder on your computer containing the audio files of your album, then click "Send To," and click "Compressed (Zipped) Folder." A compressed folder of your album is created.

Start your Web browser, and navigate to the Megaupload website at megaupload.com.

Click the "Browse" button. A dialog box opens. Click the folder on your computer containing the compressed album folder, then click the compressed album folder to select it.

Click "Open." The name of your compressed album's folder appears in the box located next to the "Browse" button.

Type a description for the compressed album in the text box next to the "Send" button, such as "Our Band's Demo Album" or "Latest Recording Mix Version of our New Album."

Click the "Send" button to upload your album to Megaupload. A Megaupload link to the album appears on the page after the "Upload Progress" bar reaches 100 percent. Copy the Megaupload link and give it to each member of your band and to anyone else you want to share the album with. People load the Megaupload link in a Web browser to download the album to their computer.

Tips & Warnings
The maximum file size you can upload to Megaupload without being a member is 1,024 MB. Megaupload deletes a file from its system if 21 days pass without anyone downloading it, so you should download your own album every few weeks to keep it active on the site if no one else is downloading it.
