How to Put an HTML Tag on Craigslist
HTML, or HyperText Markup Language, is a basic programming language used by most websites. Craigslist allows the use of basic HTML tags for formatting your listings with bolding, italicization, borders and many other commonly used HTML tags. Multiple HTML tags can be used simultaneously to get the desired effect. A listing that uses HTML tastefully can catch the eye of potential buyers. Points you want to emphasis in the listing, such as the location or price, can be made more apparent by bolding or enlarging text.

1
Open craigslist.org in a Web browser such as Internet Explorer. Click "My Account" and open a previously created listing to edit or click "Post to Classifieds" to post a new listing.
-
2
Place the HTML tag in the body of text under the Posting Description section where you want the HTML to be used. For example, to bold the text "This listing will be deleted in three days," place the letter "b," the HTML code for bold, at the beginning and end of the sentence within opening and closing angle brackets, preceded by a backslash in the closing bracket. The sentence should look like: <b>This listing will be deleted in three days</b>.
