How to Design Balloons

Design your own balloons for an upcoming party.

Balloons are simple decorations that are suitable for all kinds of events, such as children's birthday parties, bridal showers and fashion shows. Yet simply purchasing plain, colored balloons from party supply stores can be boring and overdone. Design your own customized balloons online and choose the size, shape, color and text you desire.

Instructions

Printed Balloons

1. Navigate to the Printed Balloons website (printedballoons.com).

2. Click on the "Start Your Design" button, which is located in the menu on the right side of the page.

3. Click on the size of balloon you wish to order. The choices are a 10-inch standard balloon, 12-inch metallic balloon or 18-inch metallic balloon.

4. Scroll over the colored balloons on the right side of the page to see how the available colors look on the large balloon shown on the left. Click on the color you prefer. When you do this, you will see a blue box around your chosen color.

5. Click in the "Enter your text" text box on the left side of the page, underneath the "Design your balloon" caption. Type in what you want your balloon to say, such as, "Happy Birthday Jane!" or, "Happy Retirement Susan!"

6. Click on the drop-down menus beneath where you typed in the text for your balloon. Choose the text font, text color and quantity of balloons you wish to order. Orders begin at 25 balloons and go up to 500.

7. Click on the drop-down menus underneath the ones you worked with in step six to select any additional supplies you require, such as cups and sticks.

8. Review your choices of color, text, font, quantity and accessories before clicking on the "Place Order" button at the bottom of the drop-down menus.

9. Review your order and type in your information, such as name, email address, delivery address and preferred delivery date. While the prices on this website are listed in pounds, Printed Balloons does ship to American addresses. Click the "Proceed" button.

10. Select your payment method and enter your credit card details. Press the "Proceed" button.

11. Verify your information and send your payment. Your custom-designed balloons will be delivered to the address you requested.

Hullaballoo Custom Printing

1. Navigate to the Hullaballoo Custom Printing website (hullaballooprinting.com). Hover over the "Printed Balloons" button at the top left of the page. Select "Custom Balloons" from the drop-down menu.

2. Scroll partway down the page and use the drop-down menus to select the quantity of balloons you would like, as well as the ink color. Check the boxes that correspond to whether you would like a second ink color, which is an extra charge, and which color you would like the balloons to be.

3. Type the text you want printed on the balloons in the "Display Text" field, which is on the same page. Click on the "Choose File" buttons to upload artwork to have printed on the balloons, if you want.

4. Type in the date you wish to receive the balloons in the "mm/dd/yy" field. Use the drop-down menus and check boxes on the remainder of the page to select quantities and colors of extras such as strings, curling ribbon and matching napkins. Click the "Add to Cart" button.

5. Review your order and click on the button that represents your preferred checkout method; you can check out through the website, PayPal or Google. If you check out through the website, click on the "Sign Up" button to create a customer profile, fill out the fields and click "Submit." Verify your delivery and payment information and send your order.

Balloon Lab

1. Navigate to the Balloon Lab website (balloonlab.com), if you live near one of their affiliates. At the time of publication, affiliates were located in Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Cleveland and Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the specific area you live in. This website is different than the ones described in Sections 1 and 2 because it allows you to design custom balloon arches, columns and drops, which the company then comes and installs. Select the type of balloon decoration you would like to design.

3. Select the size of the balloon arch or columns you are designing by clicking on the appropriate button on the left side of the page. Select the number of balloons to use if you opted for a balloon drop.

4. Click on the buttons to select the number of colors, and what those colors will be, for your balloon arch, columns or drop. If you're designing balloon columns, choose a topping, if desired.

5. Click on the "Request a Quote" button at the bottom right of the page. Fill in your personal information on the right and select a date and time for when the custom balloon decoration would need to be installed on the bottom left.

6. Wait for the company to contact you with a price quotation for your design and a date regarding when it can be installed. If the quotation and timing are appropriate, pay for your custom-designed balloon decorations, which can be done using Visa, MasterCard and American Express, and arrange for delivery through the company representative who contacts you.
