How to Set Up the Attributes for ProStores
ProStores is a comprehensive, yet intuitive and user-friendly online Ecommerce software package designed for online sellers who want to set up and brand their own online storefronts. The monthly fee that ProStores, a division of Ebay, charges, covers full hosting as well as access to the. This lets you edit and update your store whenever you want. Among the advanced features in a ProStores storefront are attributes for organizing technical descriptions such as size or color. You can set attributes up in the interface, then assign them to any item in your inventory to which they pertain.

Click the blue "Sign in" button at the top right-hand corner of the ProStores home page. Enter your user name and password in the respective fields as soon as the log-in page appears, then click the orange "Sign in" button on the bottom of the log-in page.

Click "Product" in the left sidebar menu as soon as the store administration page appears, which should occur momentarily after you complete step 1. This expands the products administration submenu so that you can see each of the sub-categories for managing your products.

Click "Shared attributes" under the expanded "Product" sidebar menu listing, then click "Add" under "Shared attributes." Wait a few seconds, and the "Add shared attribute" screen will appear to the right of the sidebar menu.

Type the name you want to give your attribute in the top "Attribute name" field of the "Attribute details" box on the "Add shared attributes" page. This is your internal name, and it can be descriptive, such as "size" or "color" or an internal code such as "Attribute1."

Enter the name of the attribute as you want your customers to see it in the "Storefront label" text field second from the top. This should be short and descriptive, and "size" or "color" are standard examples. This label can be the same as your internal label as described in Step 4.

Click on either the circular radio button to the left of the phrase "Pull down menu" or the one to the left of "Radio button" in the third row from the top of the "Attribute details" box. This depends on which style of interface you want your customers to use when selecting the attribute.

Type each possible value for the attribute for size. Examples are small, medium, large; for color, red, white and blue in the "Attribute values" typefield. Separate each value with a comma.

Click the "Submit" button at the left of the screen, just below the dialog box. This will take you to the "Shared attributes" list, and you will see the details you just entered.

Confirm that the details are correct, then click on the link for the title of the attribute to re-enter the dialog box if you need to edit anything.

Repeat steps 3-9 for every attribute you want to create. You may want to create attributes for finish, texture, compatibility or any other variable that pertains to your goods or services.

Edit any products you have created, or create new products. Use the pull-down menu in the attributes field on the product creation or editing page to select up to10 of your stored attributes for every product you create.
