How to Get More Emoticons on Skype

Emoticons convey emotion in place of facial expressions.

If you have overused the common skype emoticons, you may seek new emoticons to embellish your chat conversations with family and friends. Although Skype does not allow users to upload their own emoticons, they have more than a dozen hidden emoticons that do not appear in the menu. You can access these hidden emoticons by manually entering simple code into your text field.

Instructions

1. Go to the Skype Fun website: skypefun.net.

2. Select "Skype Hidden Emoticons" under the "Skype Emoticons" panel on the main page.

3. Choose an emoticon to add to your Skype chat. The emoticons are divided into two categories: "Hidden Skype Emoticons in Version 2.5 and Later" and "Hidden Emoticons in Version 3.0 and later." The code for the emoticon is listed to the right of the emoticon.

4. Click anywhere in your the text field for your Skype chat. Type the code where you want the emoticon to appear. For example, to make a "head bang" emoticon, type "(headbang)" in the text field. Press enter to send the emoticon to your chat partner.
