Slide the end of the pipe that you wish to bend into the closed end of the Gardner Bender 930. Continue sliding the pipe through until the end of the pipe comes through the opposite end of the bender. Adjust the pipe so that the bender is resting on the location where you want to make the bend.

Insert the handle into the hole in the center of the bender. Depending on the strength and size of the pipe that you are bending, it might require a longer handle in order to get enough strength to bend the pipe. Different sized handles are available from the location where you purchased the bender.

Lay the pipe onto a flat surface and grasp the handle with both hands. Pull back on the handle slowly and the pipe will begin to bend as you pull. Pay attention as you pull to listen for cracking or breaking and stop pulling immediately if you suspect that damage is being done to the pipe or to the bender.

Continue to pull the handle until the pipe is bent at the angle that you want it. There are several angles marked on the side of the bender that will help you bend the pipe to an exact angle such as 45 or 90 degrees. Stop bending when the angle line lines up with the end of the pipe.
