How to Decorate Slipper Socks for Gift Giving

Whatever the occasion, slipper socks make great gifts

Slipper socks make excellent gifts for those on your list with chilly toes. Whether you make them yourself or buy them, decorating can be a fun way to personalize them for your loved one. Children can also do simple decorating techniques, letting them help with the gift. Take the personal style of the individual you're giving the gift to into account and have fun.

Things You'll Need

• Slipper socks
• 3-D colored craft glue
• Felt
• Scissors
• Fabric glue
• Needle
• Thread
• Buttons
• Googly eyes
• Ribbon, lace or extra fabric

Instructions

1. Lie your slipper socks flat, with the soles face up. Apply 3-D craft glue in various patterns and designs to the soles of the slippers. Zig-zag and flower patterns work well. This will help provide friction to stop anyone slipping in the slippers. Allow to dry.

2. Cut shapes such as flowers, letters or animals out of colored felt. Glue these onto the slipper sock using fabric glue.

3. Sew interesting buttons of different colors and shapes onto your slipper sock.

4. Give your slipper socks personality by gluing on googly eyes, which can be purchased at a craft store. Allow to dry.

5. Glue ribbon, lace or other fabric to your slipper socks using fabric glue. Allow to dry.

Tips & Warnings

• Lay the materials you want to use onto your sock before you start sewing or gluing them down to ensure you are happy with your design.

• Be careful when using a needle and thread around children. Always supervise children using a needle and thread
