How to Clean Clipper Guards
If you use clippers to cut hair, it is important to clean the clipper guards after every haircut, especially if you cut the hair of more than one person. Germs, diseases and lice can be passed from person to person through hair-cutting equipment that has not been properly cleaned. It only takes a few minutes after each haircut to clean clipper guards. Use the cleaning brush that came with the hair clipper set to brush any hair from the clipper guards.

Wash the guards with soap and hot water to remove any dirt and oils.

Sanitize the guards by soaking them in a commercial disinfectant or by spraying them with 91-percent isopropyl alcohol. If you soak the guards, leave them in the solution for 10 minutes. If you spray them with alcohol, let the alcohol work for one minute and then wipe the guards down with a clean paper towel.
