How to Enter Post-Dated Cheques in QuickBooks

QuickBooks is a financial management application that lets you manage checks on your computer. Checks that are post-dated have not yet been sent, but will be at a later time. You may want to still record this check now to account for it in your outgoing balance. This can be accomplished by changing the date variable in the check register.

      Open QuickBooks from your Start menu.

      Click "Check Register."

    • 3

      Select the account the check will be drawn on, then click "New Check."

      Type the check number, the recipient and the amount in the relevant fields.

      Click the drop-down menu next to "Date" and choose the future date the check will be sent on, then click "OK."
