Instructions

    • 1

Go to the unit and check the power supply. If the water heater is not plugged into the wall outlet in your home, it will not heat the water.

    • 2

Locate the cold temperature setting control knob on the bottom of the unit and adjust it if the water is not getting cold enough.

    • 3

Locate the hot temperature control knob and turn it accordingly if the water is not getting hot enough.

    • 4

Remove the relief valve on the bottom of the unit to drain the tank. Drain the water into a bucket. Put a funnel on the top of the heat exchanger and pour 1 gallon of phosphoric acid into the tank.

    • 5

Allow the acid to sit in the tank for 45 minutes to clean the tank at the highest setting. Reset the temperature knob so the water goes to the coldest setting and then drain the water.

    • 6

Reinstall the relief valve and then refill the tank. Reset your temperature knobs to get the water back to normal working temperatures.
