How to Delete Write-protected Non-installed Bearshare

If you have downloaded or otherwise obtained an installation file for BearShare, and the file is write-protected but not installed on the computer, you can delete the write-protected installation file. First, you need to change the write-protected, or "Read Only," property of the file to "Read/Write." Once you do this, you can easily delete the installation file from the hard drive. Change the properties of a file from within the Windows Explorer file navigator.

Clear the "Read Only" check box in the File Properties dialog box. Click "OK."

    • 4

Right-click on the BearShare installation file and click "Delete." Click "OK" to confirm the deletion. The write-protected BearShare installation file is deleted from the file system.
