How to Bond Polyurethane to Polyester
Bonding polyurethane to polyester requires a cyanoacrylate glue that adheres parts made of different thicknesses and material compounds. A cyanoacrylate glue is a fancy way to say "rubber-cement-style" adhesive, according to Fat Lion. Cyanoacrylate glue is ideal for most craft and repair issues involving polyurethane plastic and polyester fabric. The glue includes a rapid bonding element to attach two dissimilar materials in no time. Buy cyanoacrylate glue at any home supply store.

1
Slide on latex gloves to protect your skin. Remove the cap on the cyanoacrylate glue tube. Poke a safety pin into the hole to release the vacuum seal.
-
2
Add one gram of glue per inch of fabric surface area. Thin the layer of glue -- if necessary -- by spreading it around with the tip of the glue tube.
-
-
3
Press the fabric into the polyurethane with firm pressure. Hold for up to one minute to complete the bond.
-
4
Dip a cotton swab into nail-polish remover. Swipe the swab along any necessary areas to remove residual glue. Let the adhesion settle and solidify for eight to 12 hours before using the bonded object.
