How to Set Up Hordemail on Plesk thumbnail
Horde is the default email client for Plesk server management.

Horde is the default online mail client built into the Plesk server management software platform, which is a commercial web hosting automation program. The Plesk login will be given to you when you sign up for a web hosting package, as long as that is the software that comes standard for your hosting company. Configuring Horde is straightforward and similar to a desktop mail client configuration.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into Plesk. Your server administrator or hosting provider should have given you the access address for this service.

    • 2

Click "Mail," then click the name of the user whose settings you want to configure.

    • 3

On the Horde homepage, click "Options."

    • 4

In the first column labeled "Your Information," there are links to the most important settings, such as your name and the location of your mail server. Language and time zone are configured here as well.

    • 5

In the second column labeled "Mail Management," click through each link to configure any filters you may want and maintenance operations for clearing out junk and archive folders.

    • 6

In the third and final column labeled "Other Options," there are links to aesthetic settings, such as the color of the dashboard and signatures. This is also where an address book can be configured.

Tips & Warnings

  • For more advanced users, the basic interface of Horde can be configured at /home/httpd/vhosts/webmail/horde/imp/config/trailer/. Inside that folder are various text and PHP files that control the Horde interface.
