How to Stow Gear on a Small Motorboat

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Stow gear in compartments other than those used for the fuel tank and batteries.

  2. Step 2

    Avoid stowing anything on top of safety gear.

  3. Step 3

    Secure items that don't fit into compartments with lines or bungee cords.

  4. Step 4

    Place heavy items near the boat's centerline.

  5. Step 5

    Distribute weight evenly side to side and bow to stern.

Tips & Warnings
  • Items that seem perfectly secure at the dock can become dangerous projectiles in heavy seas.
