How to Massage a Person's Ego
Many men and women need the occasional ego massage to boost their confidence. This will help move a relationship along if you want your woman or man to have the confidence to make the first or next move. Don't overdo it, however, because compliments lose their meaning after a while and it just sounds like you are desperate for a partner. A compliment near the beginning of a date or at the start of a friendship can let that person know you appreciate her.

1
Listen to her closely when she talks. Even if it is extremely boring, pretend to be interested. Cup your chin and jaw on your hands and then sit close to her.
-
2
Tell him that what he just said is fascinating. Men are a lot less confident than we think and they need to be given confidence so they will make a move.

3
Tell her that it sounds like she does a good job at work. Don't say you are impressed by the job because that will make her think you're impressed by material things. But something deeper, such as saying she is a good employee and that her employer is lucky to have her is sure to make her glow.

4
Tell him how good he looks in those pants instead of saying you like those pants. Many men don't pay much attention to fashion, so complimenting him on how well he picks pants isn't much of a compliment. Telling him how he looks, however, will give him a confidence boost about his appearance.

5
Laugh at her jokes, but follow it up with a comment. Tell her that it's great to meet someone with the same sense of humor. A simple laugh will make it seem like you just want to impress her, which will boost her confidence, but make a better connection by commenting.
-
6
Comment on how much you like her friends. Notice the qualities that he likes about his friends. Say something like, "I know what you mean about Dave; he's a really fun guy." Make sure you compliment her in front of her friends. This will let her know your attention is mostly on her.

7
Compliment him on his manners. Tell him that he makes you feel special when he orders dinner for you, or when he opens the door for you.
