How to Set Voice Names on a RAZR

The Motorola RAZR can send calls using voice commands, but you need to set up a voice name for each contact before you can make calls. The voice name is a recording of your voice. When you press the voice button on the side of the phone, the RAZR will prompt you for a command. Say "Voice Dial" and speak the voice name you recorded in the phone book entry.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "MENU" button, and open "Phonebook."

    • 2

Highlight the contact you want to set up for voice dialing, and press "MENU."

    • 3

Select "Edit," and scroll to "Voice Name."

    • 4

Press the "Record" soft key and speak the name into the microphone. Wait for the phone to prompt you to repeat the name. Press the "Record" soft key, then repeat the name.

    • 5

Press the "Change" soft key to save the changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't see a "Voice Names" field, make sure the contact is saved to the phone memory and not the SIM card. Click the "Store to:" field and select "SIM."

  • When using voice commands, make sure you say the name exactly as it is recorded in the voice name field. Don't record the person's full name as a voice name, then try to call using just their first name.
