How to Refuel a Motorboat With a Removable Tank

Removable fuel tanks make it easy to refuel.

• Rags
• Rags
• Gasoline
• Motorboats
• Sailboats
• Ski Boats

1. Turn off the motor.

2. Extinguish all flames, and discontinue use of electrical devices.

3. Close the tank breather.

4. Remove the fuel line from the tank.

5. Place the tank on dock or shore.

6. Open the filler cap.

7. Place the fuel-filler nozzle into the filler, and begin fueling.

8. Hold metal nozzle against metal fuel tank to avoid static electricity.

9. Fuel slowly to avoid overflow.

10. Wipe up any spills.

11. Replace the filler cap.

12. Replace the tank in the boat.

13. Open the tank breather.

14. Ventilate all closed compartments for a minimum of 5 minutes.

15. Turn on the bilge blower if the boat is so equipped. Run it for at least 5 minutes.
