Etiquette on How to Eat Pasta
As much as you may enjoy the pasta in front of you, slurping it up is the sure way to let everyone you are dining with know that you have bad table manners. Pasta is one of those foods that is not the easiest to eat neatly -- especially thin noodles such as spaghetti. Use the utensils provided to eat your pasta in a proper manner. Carefully wind thin, long noodles such as spaghetti around your fork, using a spoon with your free hand to steady the fork if necessary.

Wind only two to three strands of noodles at a time around your fork to avoid having to take a big bite of food, which is sure to leave you with hanging noodles that you might try to slurp up.

Cut wide noodles such as ravioli and lasagna noodles into bite size pieces before eating.

Do not slurp up pasta as this is considered very bad manners. Always make sure all of the food on the fork goes into your mouth to avoid pasta hanging out of your mouth to avoid slurping it up.

It is acceptable to cut up thin, long noodles if it will aid you in eating the pasta without having to slurp up hanging noodles.
