Instructions

    • 1

Preheat your oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a free-standing thermometer to double-check that the temperature is correct.

    • 2

Knead the Fimo clay using your hands. Mold it into whatever shape you want. If you are making beads or anything else that will need a hole in the clay, make the hole prior to cooking the clay.

    • 3

Place your crafts on the wooden cutting board. You can also use a simple piece of wood.

    • 4

Bake the Fimo clay pieces for 30 to 40 minutes. The low and slow hardening process is best to reduce cracks and scorching.

    • 5

Remove your Fimo crafts and allow to cool. At this point you can paint, sand or shine your items.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have trouble with the clay hardening before you are finished molding it, add a clay softener solution to the clay. Look for it at your local craft store.

  • Never bake your Fimo clay on glass or metal. Use a piece of wood or a cutting board. The temperature is low enough that there is no risk of the wood catching fire.
