How to Get a GUI in Metasploit

Use Metasploit with a GUI to protect your infrastructure.

Metasploit is a software platform used to test IT systems and protect them from security threats. Metasploit is a free, open-source program. Previous versions of Metasploit ran only off a command prompt, however a new version is available with a graphical user interface, or "GUI." You can install Metasploit with a GUI for free by following these simple steps.

Instructions

1. Launch your browser and go to Metasploit's download page. Click "Download" for Windows under the "Full Setup" column. Save the file to your desktop.

2. Locate the executable file you downloaded and double-click to begin the installation process.

3. Press "Next" to proceed from the welcome screen and accept the license agreement.

4. Select an installation folder for Metasploit. Metasploit can be installed onto a portable drives such as a flash drive or memory card, or onto your hard drive. After choosing a location determine if you want Metasploit to update automatically and then press "Next." Press "Next" again to install the software.

5. Launch Metasploit by going to your desktop and clicking "Metasploit Console" to launch Metasploit with a graphical user interface.
