How to Board a Small Motorboat

A little care is all it takes to get yourself safely into your motorboat.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Boat Shoes
• Sun Hats
• Waterproof Jackets
• Lip Balm
• Sunscreen
• Motorboats
• Waterproof jackets

1. Decide whether you want to board from the bow or over the gunwale.

2. Bring the boat up to the dock, either at the bow or the gunwale.

3. Place any gear you might have on the dock until you're in the boat.

4. Put one hand on the gunwale or bow. This will help steady the boat as you step in.

5. Put one foot into the boat. Try to step as close to the centerline as possible.

6. Step in with your other foot.

• In most cases, the boat will react less severely to your weight if you board over the bow.
